Answers

Symptoms #1

The vehicle is losing coolant, causing the temperature to rise. The problem may be in the radiator itself, or somewhere in the hoses.

Take the vehicle to a reputable automotive repair shop immediately.

Symptoms #2

There is a problem with your transmission.

Transmission repairs can be costly. However, if you provide your car with regular maintenance, the chances of having to pay for an expensive repair drop considerably.

Symptoms #3

The problem may lie with your alternator or serpentine belt. This is causing your battery to lose charge rapidly.

Unless you can find a reputable mechanic quickly, you will probably find yourself stranded at the side of the road.

Without proper training, it’s hard to get to the bottom of your answers to the vehicle diagnosis quiz.

Symptoms #4

There are a number of potential problems. However, the grinding noise, along with the poor steering suggests that you may have a wheel bearing issue.

Your steering system is one of the most important systems in your vehicle. Don't hesitate to have the car checked out immediately.

Read our post about steering issues entitled "Steering Problems - Car Pulling To One Side."

Symptoms #5

These are signs of brake or brake pad failure.

Getting your brakes checked doesn't take very long. If they require maintenance, it can usually be done in a few hours or less depending on the type of vehicle and the amount of work being done.

Having the brake pads replaced can be done very quickly, but if the rotors need turning or replacing then it will take longer. The cost will vary as well.

Replacing the brake pads can cost up to a couple hundred dollars whereas a complete brake system repair will cost significantly more.

"These guys are good. Up to date and well equipped to repair late model cars, yet enough experience to deal with older stuff as well. Recently, I had a recurring problem on my 2014 Equinox that they resolved through persistence, even though in the aftermath it became obvious that the problem was caused by me, the driver! Great service as always, Thanks!"
