Important Notice for G Road Tests
Because of the backlog caused by COVID-19 closures and restrictions, the G road test has been shortened until further notice. It will not include certain elements that you were already tested on in your G2 road test. These items include:
Parallel parking
Roadside stops
3-point turns
Driving in residential neighbourhoods
This change will stay in effect until the backlog is cleared. Make sure you check with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation before you take your test to see if this change has been reversed.

G Road Test Checklist: What Is THE ONTARIO G CLASS TEST?
Ontario has a “graduated licensing” system that consists of three levels that are as follows:
G1:
Your G1 is similar to a “learner’s permit” or “learner’s license”. To get your G1 you must pass an eye exam and a written driving knowledge test.
G2:
This is your second level of driving. Once you pass this portion of the test (a road test), you no longer need to drive with an experienced driver, but you do have a number of restrictions that you need to follow.
G:
The G Class is a full driver’s license. To get your G License, you must pass another road test.
It is important to get your G license, as your G1 and G2 will eventually expire. If they expire, you will have to retake the written test (G1) and road test (G2). There are also many restrictions for G1 and G2 drivers that a G driver does not have to worry about.
